1. What is a prefab home?

A prefabricated home is a broad term that describes a building structure which is constructed either partially or fully off-site. Components are constructed and delivered to a location where they are installed or assembled to form the final building. Building the CASA-i units in our factory allows us to craft them in a controlled environment at scale, creating less waste with a higher-quality end result. You can read more about this here.

 2. Is a prefab home safe and durable?

Very! Each CASA-i home is crafted carefully with a full team of Engineers and Architects. Our units withstand up to 200 mph winds, earthquakes, fires and all the natural disasters Puerto Rico faces. We want everyone living in a CASA-i to be safe at all times. Our homes come with a standard 10-1 warranty; 10 year structural warranty and 1 year on finishes. We leave no stones unturned when we make one.

  3. Is this like a mobile home or container?

Absolutely not! CASA-i homes are installed on a concrete foundation and permanently connected to utilities. They have no wheels and are considered a 'real property'. We use higher quality material than standard construction in Puerto Rico, and, in many aspects, we exceed code requirements.

  4. What's the timeline?

A CASA-i project can take as little as 6 months to complete from the date of finalizing the contract until we give you the keys.  Timeline will depend on our pipeline, your site work, and the final specifications for your home. We have a waitlist set up for clients who want to reserve a spot in line while they work out details of their project. Please follow this link to the Waitlist for more information.

  5. What will it cost me?

Our pricing includes everything related to the actual CASA-i home. You have to think of CASA-i like a car dealership, we sell you the car but we don't build the road the car drives on. Pricing varies but to give you an idea our units can cost anywhere between $240-$400 a sq. ft. Please note, square foot pricing does not apply to our tiny/ADU homes.  The final cost will vary project to project. If you would like to receive quotes please send us an email at sales@casa-i.com.

 6.  What does the price include?

Our pricing starts with our base package, which is a complete turnkey option. In addition to the base option, we have a number of items that may be added on at the client’s discretion. When you decide to move forward with CASA-i, our sales rep will go through all of our packages with you.

7. What is not included in the CASA-i base price?

Our pricing starts with our base turnkey package. In addition to the base option, we have a number of items that may be added on at the client’s discretion. When you decide to move forward with CASA-i, our sales rep will go through all of our packages with you. They include:

  • A/C units
  • Solar system
  • Grey water system (variety of options)
  • Cistern and irrigation

8. Does CASA-i build foundations and driveways?

The quick answer is no, not at this time. We can help you coordinate with the site contractor but, for now, we do not do site works.  CASA-i is like a car manufacturer, they build the car but not the road you drive it on.  We manufacture the components of the house but do not offer typical on-site construction services.

Site works includes items like: decks, foundation work, pools, earth movements, fencing, utilities pedestals and trenching, etc.. But, we can design these elements for you and produce the contract documents. Make an Appointment to discuss the services you need for your project.

9. Does CASA-i finance?

We do not finance. However it's a relatively easy process to acquire a regular construction loan with any local bank of Coop. Payments are made as we complete each stage of the project.
